Webinars for Marketing and Sales – 9 questions you have to ask before you present

webinar and webcast tipsWebinars are a great way to market your business, to grow your list, to educate prospects (and clients), and to make sales. But don’t take the planning process lightly, or your webinar won’t bring any of the benefits that you’re dreaming about.

I’ve worked with people who’ve been stingy on invites or optimistic on their sign-up and attendance ratios. In more than one case people have had to cancel webinars or have presented to one or two people (if this happens to you, you may want to take the opportunity to practice by moving forward with the webinar – make sure you get feedback afterward too!).

In other cases, it’s a “sell-fest” and trust and engagement go down the toilet.

Another common case is the “Webinar Gone Wild” situation with no control over timing, massive technical glitches or presenters stumbling over words and the overall process.

Don’t let this happen to you!

I have a free webinar ebook that tackles most of the issues above. In addition, below are Nine Key Questions you can go through before each webinar to help you improve it from end-to-end.

9 Key Questions To Cover Before Every Webinar:

  1. How do we maximize registration?

  2. How do we maximize attendance? (getting people who signed up to actually show up)

  3. How do we maximize engagement? (keeping people interested)

  4. How do we maximize trust?

  5. How do we guarantee they learn something valuable? (so they’ll come to the next one)

  6. How do we keep people on until the end?

  7. How do we make our offer compelling and urgent?

  8. How do we make the sales process seamless and easy?

  9. How do we get the most out of the post-webinar process? (it’s not over even after it’s over!)

What webinar situations have you been in?

What other questions do you think should be asked before that all-important webinar? Have you experienced GREAT or TERRIBLE webinars? Tells us your story below!

    • Hi Chris. I find that people who try new things sometimes don’t do it too seriously, the results are not great and they think it won’t work. This list would be a great thing to double-check before you present anywhere to make sure you put your all into it. Thanks for stopping by!
