5-tips-on-increasing-your-social-following-without-using-ads

Many businesses are using advertising in order to get in front of their audience rapidly and basically without any effort. This is a great way of quickly gaining a following on social media, especially for new brands that want to increase the number of their followers in a very short time.

However, using advertising is not the only strategy for increasing your reach and if your budget doesn’t allow it, you might need a different strategy. Many new businesses have limited resources and can’t afford to pay for social marketing advertising in order to eliminate the work involved with increasing their organic reach.

Nevertheless, you shouldn’t feel limited by your budget because there are ways you can be successful on social media without spending a hefty amount on advertising. You can use the following five tips to increase your social following without paying for a single ad.

Invest in Useful and Relevant Content

Posting high-quality and relevant content increases the likelihood that your visitors will share your posts with other people, extending your reach without making any additional investment. Offering useful content to the community is a natural way of attracting visitors to your social media channels.

Get a feel for the problems and concerns your market has, so you can create relevant videos, graphics, and articles that resonate with your prospects. Provide in-depth coverage of the issues facing your prospects and provide knowledge that helps them feel empowered and sophisticated. Eventually, people will instinctively turn to your brand because they regard you as authoritative.

You can also provide information about your industry or market and demonstrate why people need the products and services you offer. Establish your brand as a source for expert information for your industry by supplying the community with content that solves problems and improves the quality of life for your audience. Doing so will also create for you a reputation for having a concern for people regardless of whether they buy from you.

Know Your Audience

One of the biggest marketing mistakes businesses make is failing to understand their audience. Your audience is the most important part of your social media marketing so you should take the time to learn everything you can about them. You will need to perform market research as this will help you to know what type of content to publish and share with your followers.

If you can find your perfect customer and interview them, you can gather a lot of useful information by asking relevant questions. Then you can create a persona that embodies all the traits of your ideal customer. This will help you understand your audience and get an idea of what they need and how they feel.

Once you have gathered all the relevant information, it will be much easier for you to craft content with a specific persona’s needs and desires in mind. The time you spend getting to know your audience will pay off because it will help you create highly relevant content that quickly gains traction on social sites without paying for advertising.

Leverage Contests and Special Offers

By giving your audience something for free, you can create an exciting social media presence and give your visitors an extra reason to keep returning to your channels. Organizing contests and providing meaningful prizes will not only encourage your existing followers to interact with your company but it will also attract many new followers.

Offering discounts and special offers will also get people interested in your brand. Encourage prospects to become more involved with your brand by giving them special offers that let them fully experience your products or services for a reduced price. When you maintain an interactive and engaging social media profile, you will gain goodwill for your brand that will lead to an increase in the number of your followers and sales.

Team Up With Influencers

Find some influential people in your industry who can support your brand with product endorsements and guest blog posts that you can publicize using your social media channels. Influencers add authority and credibility to your brand and attract more visitors who will become followers. The participation of influencers in your social media effort also adds excitement to your content that attracts new followers and gives your existing audience additional reasons to become customers.

Sometimes, you might discover that people enjoy synergies when they combine your product or service with a different one offered by another company or brand with whom you can join to publish special offers and content. Collaborating with another company can create a mutually beneficial relationship that results in increased sales and social media traction from users who might not otherwise recognize the connection between both brands.

Update Your Social Media Accounts Regularly

Successful social media strategies require constant attention, so don’t disappear after setting up your profiles and pages. Failure to provide fresh content and respond to feedback creates a perception in the community that you lack interest or just don’t care about social media. Regardless, you risk creating a negative brand image that might cause you to lose followers.

Consistently publish new content and interact with your followers. Don’t focus only on your brand and page. Instead, keep your audience in mind and post relevant news and tips from other sources that can directly affect their life. Occasionally, get off topic and share some humorous or fascinating material that connects with people on a personal level. When you participate in the social experience and always have something new to discover, you’ll attract followers and keep them engaged and loyal to your brand.

Wrapping It Up

Increasing your social media following without spending money is certainly possible. However, you’ll need to invest time and effort as you create content that interests and helps the people who comprise your target market. As you involve influencers in your efforts and organize contests and special incentives to buy, you will establish your brand in the marketplace and earn the trust and business of the people whom you serve. By utilizing these five techniques you will skyrocket your business without an advertising budget.

  1. Very very useful article, thanks a lot! SUbscribed! 😀

I have a question regarding the pinterest strategy though.

You suggest to add about 50 – 100 followers a day over the first two weeks. That would be around 700 – 1400 followers.

Do you delete them afterwards to have the follower – following ratio more balanced again?

Do you use a tool for working more efficiently with pinterest?

    Best regards,
