Google Vehicles: What’s Next?

Living in the San Francicso Bay Area I have the opportunity to bump into Google vehicles here and there.

Here are some shots of Google’s most famous vehicles. I’m including shots that I took of the Google cars as well as some of the Google Jet and Helicopter. What vehicle do you think Google will be working on (or buying) next? The Google hovercraft perhaps?

Google Streetview Cars

Google uses these cars to capture photos of streets, businesses and houses worldwide. They’re regularly parked near the YouTube offices in San Bruno, California.

Google Driverless Car (newer black version)

Google has been experimenting with a car that is capable of driving itself. I’ve spotted it on the 280 freeway near Burlingame and Cupertino. In both cases it’s had a driver (or an observer) behind the wheel.

Here’s the older, unbranded version of the driverless car, shot in Cupertino, California.

The Google Jet

Google (actually Sergey and Larry, through a separate legal entity) owns a Boeing 767 that lands at Moffet Field in Mountain View (right next to the Google campus)

The Google Bike

Google bikes are the simple (but colorful) vehicles that Google employees use to move between the various buildings in the ever-expanding Google campus.

Google Helicopter

Apparently Larry Page owns and can fly a helicopter. Who knew?

  2. Surprised they only have bicycles for the Google campus. I would think the execs would want golf carts or some kind of quad to get around faster, I’m sure if they don’t have them they will soon.
